6 Speed on 180Q???

Does anyone have any more info about the possibility of the 6 speed being put in the 180Q?? Mine went into production on 6-7-99.

it will have the same basic transmission as the 225 6 sp...but with one less gear. It is not the same transmission as on the FWD version.

As i understand it, the 180 is available as a fwd 5 speed, or a quattro, which is only a 6 speed. Both 180 and 225's in Quattro are 6 speeds. Kick ***, no?Q

Actually...

The 180hp versions of the TT (both FWD and Quattro) have a 5-speed manual trans. The 225hp TT will have a 6-speed. BOTH of these models use the VW group 02J transmission found in all manual Golf IV platform vehicles (Golf, Jetta, New Beetle, TT, A3, S3, Seat Toledo, and more).- jamie

AOA says 5 speed for 180Q

Called AOA today to see if the official word had changed. Sill 5 speed for 180Q. Can any of the German readers help with a call to HQ to help get the final, final word?? Thanks.Frank W. 180Q on order

Something I've learned from my dealings with Audi...

There us no final word ever, and there certainly is no "final, final word". Things happen in the way and time that they happen. No one knows anything, or if they do they don't let on.
