Default Found something new...

Maybe the rest of you know this, but I just discovered that there is a small, flip down sun shade just above the rear view mirror. I'm surprised that I never saw it before.
Also, did you know that if you hold down the FM2 button while turning your radio on, you can adjust a number of parameters, such as FM sensitivity, GALA (speed sensitive volume control), NAV (whatever that is, presumably something to do with a GPS system, etc).

Hey Brad- Didn't ya read your owners manual- Ha Ha. Saw that in there and ran right out to the car to check it out. Were you able to set your radio with that Gala switch for the speed sensitivity? I've tried it, but don't notice any difference. If yours worked, can you tell me what settings you used. By the way, got my car cover yesterday. It is great.
I read the owner's manual, but I was so excited about getting the TT, that I found it hard to concentrate.
I'll give you a couple of tips regarding that car cover. Go to WalMart and in the automotive section you will find the California Duster. Buy two, one for the paint and another for the dirty wheels. This will cost you less than $20 for both dusters. Clean the car with the Dusters prior to putting on the cover. First of all, the cover extends to the bottom of the wheels, and it will become filthy with brake dust if you don't clean them off first. Secondly, you don't want to cover a dusty TT, as the cover will scratch the paint by rubbing dirt into the clear coat. Those California Dusters (no, I don't own stock in them) will solve both of these problems and will keep you TT looking great inbetween washes. Be sure to use your "wheel Duster" on your filthy exhaust tip also. Otherwise, it will blacken the back of the cover. Also, never put on the cover when the exhaust tip is hot, as it will melt the cover.
While you're at WalMart, pick up a bottle or two of Meguiars Qwik Detail (about $4.79). I can clean my TT with this stuff in about 5 minutes, and it looks like I just washed it. Just spray it on and wipe it of with a clean cotton cloth. Obviously, you still have to wash your car, but this stuff works great. Also great for getting off dead insects and bird poop.
Another cover tip is, when putting the cover on, the first thing that you should do is put the cellular antenna in the cover's antenna pocket. This will hold the cover in place while you stretch the cover over the rest of the TT.

Default That's great . . . . thanks.

Hi Brad . .and thanks. I had no idea about the flip down sunshade above the rearview mirror. . . .certainly will be of help to me on my many eastbound trips on the 10 FRY to the desert. That east sun is tough, especially at 6:30AM! I went to the garage upon reading your post and checked out my car . . . thinking maybe this was another NM perk I had been excluded from. But no! So thanks again! Pete

Obviously your Audi Brand Specialist did not do his/her job properly. That third sun visor has been on Audis for several years. I always cover those features as well as all the functions on the concert stereo system on every delivery. I also give the client an audio tape that explains all those features about the radio.

My Audi specialist was excellent and has worked in Audi sales for 12 or 15 years. He did explain Gala, but I forgot about it until I reread the manual. He may have mentioned the sun shade, but who knows? It was the first TT that the dealership received, and both of us were pretty excited.
