Trip report:<p>Spent the past 10 days in Fiat/Alfa-land; Torino, Firenze and Milano Italy. TT's are of course much more prevalent here, but still gather crowds. Saw a grand total of maybe 10 or 12, all silver except one blue. No black. So the Europeans, who understand style much better than we Americans, have apparently endorsed Silver as the correct color. Now seeing one per day may not sound like much, but I was working indoors for 8 of these 10 days.<p>The highlight was being passed by one while I was doing 180kph trying to make La Scala. Like I was standing still, he must have been doing 230kph. If he had a limiter, I'm sure it was broken.<p>Interestingly, many more A8s around here than in the States, A4s and A3s are nearly a dime a dozen...

Hi Janet,<p>As I await my silver/grey/august/180Q, I must agree with you! I had my name on a black/grey, but something told me to hold the trigger and wait for the silver/Q.<p>I took this pic outside my hotel, came out pretty well thanks to the bright lighting from the caffe behind me.<p>But I have to tell you --- the brake dust was horrible on this poor baby. And some of it looked like it had mixed with fluid of some sort and had run down the rim to the rubber. That aspect is going to be a daily chore I'm afraid...<p>You are Houston Janet??<p>Ciao<br>Carl<br>

Yes, I am. And I'm envious of the "timing" you<br>mentioned, because I don't expect to even get<br>an allocation to order my own 180Q here until about the time you're already receiving yours! Oh well...the lease on my current car doesn't end until 1 November anyway, and I'm SURE that my TT will be MORE than worth the wait!<p>I had thought about a grey/black but decided that silver/black will be more "classic"...and your photo confirms my feeling! BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL BABY!<br>I just took delivery of my Ebony/Ebony TT. Seems like Silver is the only available color around here in Boston and I was actually thankful that a black one became available. <br>All I can say is I love my new baby no matter what color she is.<br>Jeff<br>

Wax the wheels and repel brake dust
Have found that regular car wax (Meg #16) is great<br>at getting rid of the natural attraction of the<br>wheels (static charge?) for brake dust.<p>Still have to clean but so darn often.<p>Now this is from experience on new 328i so...<p>Will relate TT waxed wheel experiences soon.

Where in Boston?
I can't argue with you -- I originally had my name on a black one from Pass & Weiz in Burlington MA, but elected to go Silver/Q and wait a couple of months. What dealer did you buy from? (I'm curious if you have my original black one).<p>Happy driving!
