Bose System - diappeard as option??

Hello,on www.a4.org, I saw the latest update on Audi's model 2000 option packages for the United States.All new Audi models (except the TT) will be equipped with an in-dash CD player (finally!!!).However, when I browsed the TT options page, it did NOT list the Bose sound system any more. What happened to it? Has it been forgotten by mistake?Also, did anybody compare the Bose with the standard radio? The comments I have been reading so far pointed out that the Bose is o.k., but not great (and probably not worth the money). So - anybody can comment on a 1:1 comparison?ThanksUwe

I was going to take the regular sound system (same headunit, but different speakers and less power) and add the ~$300 factory 6CD changer unit (same as BOSE system) and put in MB Quart speakers, maybe a sub in the trunk. All for WAY less than the $1,200 lame BOSE system I got stuck with (had to take it because I took over someone else's car order).I would suggest this plan to anyone else who has a choice...

I posed the question to the editors of that web page regarding Bose no longer being listed as an option and here was the reply from Matt:"I looked over the info I have and don't see it listed. I can't believe that it has been dropped, maybe they made it standard equipment starting in the fall? I really don't know.Matt"Interesting...............If it is standard, we'll be forced to pay for it!

I have been without my black TT for five days now due to the BOSE system. everytime i hit a bump in the road or turn left the radio would blow a fuse. Rod East Audi (san antonio texas)logiaccaly replaced the radio and it still blew fuses. Now they have had it five days..scratching their heads in search of chafed wires........sighI miss my TT
