Frustration - UK 225 delivery - any news?
OK - I was over-optimistic! I believed my dealer who told me mine was at Inspection Point 7 or similar on 9th June and went onto say I would have the car in UK by end of June ... well here we are on the 29th June and it still hasn't moved beyond that inspection point - what is happening?????

There are rumors that production of the 225 has been stopped temporarily
Hi,<p>in our german newsgroup one guy indicated that the production of the 225 Coupé has been stopped last week and will be resumed not before October. <p>Could be, because Audi must produce a lot of Roadsters now due to its german shipping day on the 10th of September.<p>Michael

My 180 Quattro has been confirmed for delivery in September - I have it in writing.<br>My car wasn't due until December 2000, but I was told that the Roadster is delayed until next year, and only a handful of 225's will be delivered this year.<br>As I only wanted the 180Q, which they can produce now - I have jumped the queue.<p>So to all those who wanted to hold out for the 225 or Roadster - Thanks!<p>I think you should remember guys - car dealers are always full of ****, they will always spin you a yarn!<p>Simon.

I RESENT YOUR STATEMENT CAR DEALERS ARE ALLWAYS FULL OF ****. I WORK FOR A LARGE AUDI DEALER IN HOUSTON TX. I AM THE SERVICE MANAGER, AND I DEAL IN FACTS, AND TREAT MY CUSTOMERS WITH RESPECT - WHICH INCLUDES TELLING THE TRUTH AND BEING UP FRONT AND HONEST WITH EVERYONE - CUSTOMERS AND EMPLOYEES ALIKE.

Excuse me, Steve, but you're a little over-sensitive . . .
Car dealers generally do not have a good reputation for honesty and there's a reason for that. Most of us agree that there are some fair and honorable dealers, but I would not concede that they constitute a majority. You just need a thicker skin. Hell, I'm a lawyer and I think at least half of the grief we get is deserved.
