Default Finally drove one...(more) (fairly long)

...after researching here and elsewhere for a couple of months.

It was in-city early evening, so no high speed runs, but one thing is for sure: this really is a sports car. Very tight, very responsive handling and what a great shifter!

For you guys who complain about the spoiler, imagine going into the showroom and finding these utterly HIDEOUS bumper guards on it that you have never seen in pictures! These tack-on (and tacky) pieces of crap presumably are the dreaded '5mph bumpers'. I'm in Canada, so I guess world-wide safety specs just aren't quite good enough for us, eh? Also, the cost of the Bose is close to 2 grand, so that is of no interest to me.

Problem is, most of the cars they have available to them have the bose.

Ideally, I would like silver/blue leather, but there are none of those. Basically, for non-bose, I have a choice of silver/aviator grey *cloth* or denim/black leather.

The blue is really nice, but I'm kind of settled on silver. So, finally to the point of my post: does the aviator grey cloth really suck? All I have to go on are these tiny little pics on the brochure. Hard to tell, but those nubs look pretty weird. Does anybody have this interior? Opinions? Pics?

Sorry everybody, but I bargained them down to $1200 below MSRP. Just have to approve this grey interior and confirm that my 6 year old daughter will fit in the back and it's mine! I think the grey cloth really would have to suck for me to turn it down! They'll truck it in from out of town for me to see on Saturday.

Thanks for listening

I can get my 6 year old niece into the back. She LOVES it back there! You just can't fit a large adult in the seat in front of her at the same time, else you chop off her little legs! lol

She also likes the front seat so long as I pop up the seat so she can see out the windows.

I have NEVER seen a cloth interior in a TT, so I can't help you out there.

I saw a picture of the Canadian bumper and can sympathise with you

Good luck with whatever you get, you will LOVE it!

Default Re: Cloth seats.

I have driven TT's both with the leather and the cloth, and I actually prefer the cloth - much better grip. I also think it fits in with the general design of the interior better than the straight leather. My guess is that the cloth was the actual original design concept for the seats, and the straight leather was more "well, we have to offer leather seats". There is no cost difference between the two. Keep in mind that the bolsters around the seat bottoms are still leather. Unfortunately, many dealers don't want to order cars with the cloth in case you back out of the deal - they think the straight leather is more saleable, which might be the case if you've never had the chance to try the cloth. By the way, when you're sitting in the seats, you are not really aware of the nubs, but they do keep you from sliding around in the seat. If you drive the car as it was intended to be driven, you'll appreciate them.

Default The grey interior looks like insides of a Buick!

Hold out for the Silver/Blue, thats what I have. When you see one you would be not really happy with the grey, which reminds me of a gal I know's Buick Park Avenue Ultra, really boring (the buick, not the gal). Frank

Default Here are the ebony cloth seats

And yes, I really like my seats! They really hold you in place and are quite comfortable. Not sure if I would choose them ove all leather though if I had it to do all over again, but you wouldn't be disappointed. Hope this helps.
