First problem... after 4700 miles... anyone else had something similar?
... I haven't taken the car out since Saturday... getting a lift into work with my girlfriend.. it's been garaged... no probs before. Will have to leave it until I get home from work now, too busy at the moment to have lost a morning or a day even.
Has anyone else had a similar problem???
oh, and the little red LEDs on th doors blink much more rapidly than they did before... and keep blinking like this... sounds like my electrics are screwed. yeah?
> The TT's electrical system is acting up (radio display in heads-up display goes off after 5-10 seconds, speedo or tach act 'notchy', fuel gauge goes from Full to 1/2 to Full intermittently, interior light won't turn off automatically when doors are closed, etc., etc.
> Frustrated owner removes fuses #11 and #15 and then re-installs them.
> Problems go away.
SOMETIMES this works and sometimes it doesn't.
Based on your description, though, I would guess that the battery is not charged sufficiently to start the car. I would either charge it properly with a battery charger or jump-start it from your girlfriend's car, or push-start it (make sure you pop the clutch in 2nd gear, not 1st).
It is amazing to me just how small the TT's battery is. More like a large motorcycle battery than a real automobile battery! I had the battery go dead after not driving the car for 8 days (after 4 months and 3200 miles). Used my 2 amp battery charger for several hours and the battery has been holding the charge now for 4 or 5 weeks. (I also try to drive the car at least once or twice a week.)
Good luck.
