Installed APR chip yesterday

I have a 180 FWD that I installed a stage 1 APR chip into yesterday. Reinstalling the ECU was a lot less painless than taking it out. Taking it out was a major pain. Anyway, after putting in the chip, my TT performs like a true sports car. The 180 engine was underpowered for me as I was used to either V-8's or to the lovely VTEC of my Acura GSR. Now my TT would eat the GSR's lunch on both 0-60 and highway passing situations. I also really love the new sound coming out of the turbo as it gets a real workout. Overall I am estactic about the performance of the APR chip, and it is cheaper than a lot of the others.

Interesting - can you elaborate on the difference in sound?

Most folks have been happy with their chips, but I don't think anyone commented about any other effects on the car -- sound, fuel economy, etc....

I installed a Wetteraurer chip last on Monday and took a 11 hr trip with my 180T FWD yesterday. TONS of torque, it just comes on like a tidal wave! I really don't notice that different a sound from the turbo under acceleration but the blow is louder (obviously - higher boost pressure). The beauty is really on the hwy no downshifting just endless reams of power. And the mileage when up from 27 mpg to 33 mpg. And I suspect it will be even higher with an exhaust. The TT is the ULTIMATE driving machine, glad I didn't purchase that 323is.
