Found the rev limiter in the red zone...
...Was following a car at 3000rpm / 3rd / 40mph or so, opportunity presented itself to pass the slower car. Dropped to 2nd (I figure about 5krpm) and then floored it to pass the vehicle. Somewhere in the red zone, the pedal goes soft and the engine starts to swan. Fortunately, it was about time to upshift to 3rd anyway, but for a split second the oncoming traffic got a little bigger in my eyes. Probably should have done the whole deed in 3rd, but I wanted to initiate the move quickly. Moral of the story to to leave some headroom on the tach...

The rev limiter is different in this car
...Because of the drive by wire. Many other cars will cut the throttle altogether until rpms drop a certain amount below the set limit.
I think this is a neat trick - in the TT, instead of the hard jolt you'd get from the ECM cutting the throttle, bumping the limiter becomes a more gentle flattening of acceleration.
