UK Owners: Insurance & the spoiler ?

UK Owners: Insurance & the spoiler ?
Have any UK owners heard about any insurance company issues with not having, or removing, the spoiler ?
I'm aiming to keep the ESP and suspension mods but the spoiler has got to go. Any news on if this will be classed as 'modifying the car' from an insurance perspective. Does Audi UK deem it to be a required component or is it optional.
Our dealer told us that it IS optional an dalthough it is being factory fitted as standard, they (the dealer) WILL remove it if asked. Apparently its bonded on with some sort of resin.
