Default My 225Q Roadster is on the water...

I just got an update on my 225Q Nimbus Grey/Amber Red Roadster. The car is currently on the ship and in transit. According to Team Houston, the ship is scheduled to arrive at the Port of Houston on March 16, and hopefully, the 225 will be at the dealer around the first of April. This assumes that Audi doesn't hold this car at the port for a later launch date en masse, which is always possible.

I certainly consider this to be good news, and hopefully this information will help the rest of you who are awaiting delivery.

Brad, do you know if your car has ESP installed. My dealer still cannot tell me the status of ESP. My 225 coupe is supposed to be built in March.

I don't know for certain what is or isn't on the car. Originally, I posted a memo which stated that ALL TT coupes and roadsters built before production week 18 would not have ESP. I have an internal Audi memo which stated this.

Weeks later, I changed my opinion, even though this was contradictory to my original posting, which I had written proof of. The reason for my change in opinion was Audi's obviously more aggressive position in addressing TT stability concerns.

When I changed my opinion, I knew that I had opened myself up to flames, and of course, I wasn't disappointed. Yet at this time, I still feel that both posts are probably right on the money. That is, things have changed since that late January memo was written. So this is a long way of saying that I feel that the car will have all mods and ESP.

It's hard to know for sure though, especially for my specific car, as this is an "early production" "bonus allocation" 225 roadster. It's fun to speculate in the meantime. In any event, it sounds like these cars will be here quickly, and we should have some firm answers soon.

Brad,
You are getting the black top, is this correct? I have an identical roadster with the grey top on order, my dealer told me that it would not be built until week 18. He offered a black top which was part of his first allocation of roadsters.

Just in case you haven't seen it, here's a pic of a 180 TT Roadster with the black top. Note that the 225Q will have the 17" 5 spoke "Competition" alloys.

No pricing is available yet. Best guess, low $40,000s fully loaded.

Default Clairification to above comments...

The 225Q TTR will offer the 5 spoke, 17" competition alloys as the only optional wheel for the 225s. The optional 6 spoke, 17" alloys shown in the photo will only be available on the 180 coupes and roadsters, as I understand it.
