5k Oil change interval..too long for turbo type?

You'd think the answer was clear cut, but this has been a issue of some discussion.
Some people say Audi puts in special oil for the first 5000 miles; others say you should change oil by 2000 miles.
Regarding synthetic oil, a consensus is clearly, and that is that an excellent synthentic like Mobil 1 is the way to go, both to protect the engine and for a modest increase in hp.
I'm waiting till 5000 for the oil change, but will have them put in Mobil 1. I'll be paying the difference, of course, between the cost of convential and synthetic oil.
