"Audi TT is good if you don't like looking out - the side windows!"
"to add, I liked the car, but it's like sitting - in a cave. Not good for long drives."
A dopey toy car? no windows? cave? not good for long drives? Obviously these people have no f*cking clue what they are talking about.
-Jenner

Get the BMW if you need more room and want a sports sedan. Get the TT if you want unique styling, all wheel drive, and a sports car.
I'm not even going to both arguing about engine power, chipping, 0-60 or torque curves.
Test drive both, and evaluate which of your needs are filled best by which car.
-Jenner

1) Exclusivity - there are a ton of 3 series coupes in my town.
2) Availability - If you are on the East Coast you'll probably be able to find a TT much faster than a 330.
3) Styling - While I think the 3 series coupe is very elegant, it does not provide the same visceral thrill as the styling on the TT.
In the end, I choose a 225 TT Desert Green w/Premium package. That said, I don't think you can go wrong either way - both are excellent cars.

Its just a different type of engine all together. The 225 power has a turbo feel and the BMW has the torque and a very nice powerband.
Just want to also add that the TT is far from a 'toy car'. If you driven it and taken it though a few turns in the rain, you would understand. Try doing that in a Bimmer with/o ESP/DSC(?)

Unless you need a real back seat, or you prefer to blend in with the crowd, the TT 225 is the only way to go.
