Default 450 hp Abt racing TT has another engine...

German magazine says they will use the same engine that propelled Hans Joachim Stuck to victory in German touring car championship in 1990 and 91(!) No further details, but at least now we know it's neither 1.8 4-cylinder or 3.2 V(R)6.

That was the V8Q, but Frank Biela won it in '91

If so, it will probably be longitudinal engine and "old" quattro?

Why not? If they're going to change engines, they might as well change engine orientation. And even if they don't, puting a Torsen on a longitudinal engine is not impossible. 450 HP is a lot to put through the haldex box as-is. Yes, it could be built up to take the load, though. I wonder which would be harder... beefing up a Haldex box or mating a Torsen to a longitudinal engine.

Default Don't admit to messing up, I just thought it was an exotic opinion. ;-) (more)

With drivelines, it isn't really the HP figure that counts, it's the torque put to the wheels, after passing through the transmission. We already knows the Haldex works in 5-600 hp racing saloons with standing starts. In a touring car championship with running starts (probably in 2nd gear?), the max torque load will be reduced by some 40%.

I admit we don't have a clue whether it will be Q or RWD, but being an Audi...
