Borla Exhaust $20 Upgrade...
For all of you TT Boys and Girls sporting a Borla Exhaust, you musTT find the "EasySeal Exhaust Clamp" (Size: 2.25").
LarryTT turned my on to it, and I think a couple of the other guys have it too..
Believe it or not, there is a difference.
The standard U-bolt clamp that comes with the Borla "leaks", even when TIGHT.
The EasySeal (basically a 3-4" strip of Stainless Steel) completely seals the gap between the cat-back pipe and the muffler section.
Sure enough, when I went to remove the old, standard clamp, I found carbon deposits running back TOWARDS the catalytic converter...
The junction is now airtight.
Sounds better, feels better.
Well worth $20 if you can find them...

Just checked... same leak. Now, where to find the new improved version? Ideas?

Hmmm, the FWD must not have this joint as no clamps other than the center support clamp that
that was re-used with the Borla. The one place where two sections of pipe are joined on the FWD uses a flange (and it can leak... mine did). And why does this 2.25" clamp fit better than a 2.5" since the exhaust tubing is 2.5"? Maybe I'm not understanding something here?

I feel like an idiot for paying $20..
(Then again, I feel like a bigger idiot for buying into the PALM IPO at $110...)
The Borla on the Quatro comes in two pieces..
The fron section clamps with the standard clamp. The rear section (muffler) comes with the U-bolt, which for $7 YOU MUST REPLACE with this clamp from JC Whitney..
Don't ask questions..
Just do it and thank me next week...

Look at the photo at the JC Whitney site and you'll see the difference between the U-bolt and..
..this clamp.
(Maybe who-ever installed yours used one of these..? Mine came with a U-shaped bolt, two nuts, and a curved doohickie...
