Default Yee-haw! First 225Q in Calgary!

...and it's all MINE!

Wonder of wonders, 3 people in front of me on the list all punted on taking the first 225Q in town, and it trickled down to me. Despite having no ESP and not being in my primary color choice (it's siliver, would have picked blue), I decided only a COMPLETE FOOL could pass on having this vehicle! Four months earlier than it was supposed to take, handily in time for summer, and the first one in town. Oh baby!

My wife and I got to put 100 klicks on it this evening in a nice, extended test drive. Despite a noticeable, slight softening in the steering response compared to the pre-mod 180Q's we drove, I have to say this car was definitely worth the wait over the 180. Smooth, sleek, and powerful. It's planted to the road like a dug-in howitzer, but moves like greased lightning. How do they do that?!

The engine note has more bass throatiness than the 180Q, and I love the sound out of the dual exhaust. And hearing that turbo swoosh when you plant the pedal would be enough to give your adrenaline a bit of a kick even if you were standing still. Lag vs. the 180 is negligible, IMO.

Also love the new 17" 5-spoke wheels. They complement the silver extremely well, and compared to the 6-spoke wheel, are something I'm more happy to keep around. The spoiler is quite liveable as well, I find. The only aesthetic issue is the unsightly bumper bulges us Canadians get stuck with.

Anyway, got some paperwork and assorted bureaucracy to work through over the next few days. Possession should be next week. Then I think I'm going to ... er ... call in sick for a couple of days. :~) :~) :~)

That seems to be exactly the same combo as my car, which I picked up here in Toronto a few weeks ago. I'd love to hear whether or not you have the exhaust resonance problem some of us have had.

The dealer tells me that mine was the first 225 in Toronto, which I have to agree...is pretty neat.

There was a resonance type of sound that popped up 3 or 4 times during our extended test drive. I didn't take note especially of the circumstances, and can't really pin down my impression. A couple of times it appeared to occur around 2900 RPM. Attributing it to exhaust wouldn't be inconsistent with what I was hearing.
