got my Borla installed today and...
I'm suprised that the sound isn't that much different from stock. Some people have said that it sounds "deeper" and "more throaty" than the stock and I agree, but you really have to be listening for the change. From inside the car with the music on, I can't tell at all. With no music and the windows down a bit, then I can tell. This is exactly what I wanted anyway. I didn't want it to be louder or "ricey".
As far as the HP goes, I can't really notice any difference BUT, I do notice how much smoother the car drives. Shifts from first to second (especially with the AC on) used to be more jerky. Now, every shift feels smoother. I really didn't expect that much improvement in that regard. This improvement is worth the expense all by itself.
Although I cannot say I've tested it myself, some on this board would also say that the turbo runs cooler with the Borla and that's the primary reason why I bought the thing.
Overall, I'm very pleased with my first 20 miles on the new exhaust.<p>GrishFish

Picked up 2001 quattro tt 225hp last week. Love the car but it is a little weak in the engine sound dept. Do you know of any other systems that won't void a warranty. Also does anyone else with the 225tt get a humming noise around 3000rpm during acceleration? I've never had a turbo before. Also where do you get the clear bra/shields by 3M and do they need to be dealer installed?
