Default A question for the ladies...

It seems as if most of the guys (me too) want ever faster, more powerful TTs. Yet, I don't read much of this from the ladies. So ladies, do you too have this lust for speed and horsepower, or is it a testosterone/guy thing?

Default OK, wrong gender, but I'd like to comment, too...

I get tempted to up the power-ante after reading about chipping 180's and 225's and Borla's and so on, but it then occurs to me that this is already the fastest, most beautiful car I have every owned; indeed, may ever own.

If I were in my 20's and 30's, maybe even 40's I might still feel that need strongly enough to make it a reality. But at 52 I am enjoying the subtleties a lot more than I used to, and I don't need fire and brimstone every moment. Besides, there is enough f&b under my TTQ's hood to get me in plenty deep. I love it for its lines, its sophistication, its comfort and its handling; lowering my 0-60 time by a 1.5-2 seconds just doesn't seem to matter anymore.

Thanks for letting me toss in my $.02.

Default Nope, I like speed. A switch to 225/300 might be fun at the end of the lease. (more)

I think the difference is we don't feel as competitive with our cars as men do -- they are not quite as much of an extension of ourselves. That is not a criticism, just an observation. Probably every woman here will have a different opinion on this, as I don't think you can stereotype much of anything, anymore.

Default Speed is just a bonus for me. Guess I'm more turned on to the unique style of the TT rather than

speed or power. Although, I've never really experienced a sports car from the driver's seat, so perhaps a reality check is in order. I went for 225 hp b/c I *can*, and the reviews sounded better, not b/c of the brag factor. All those muscle-mods sound cool as hell, but somehow definitely seem testosteronally-inspired.

Default I've been driving turbos for 15 years so a 225 was a no brainer. Faster than that...

where can you really exercise it in this country.

Default Well said, me too

It has always been maneuverability in the twisties that has turned me on rather than straight-line acceleration. My slightly modified CRX will outrun most Mustangs on my favorite S curve, now THAT is a blast. (A very sharp left turn into the S going up hill, sort of an uphill Corkscrew) Of course the TT will do it yet better, but they don't expect it from the CRX. Geez one would think as I approach 60 I would begin to grow up.. HAH!!!

Default Route 9 through New Britain has a nice stretch with plenty of visibility too.

But you still can't cruise at high speed for long periods of time here like you can in Germany. We go over every year and I love driving at 100+ mph on the autobahn. Very intense.
