Just took the plunge!
Well, it's official. After a bit of wrangling with my dealer, I have been promised the Raven Black Pearl 225Q that is currently on it's way. Delivery date is early August. Phew! Time has never moved this slowly in my entire life.
It was touch and go for a while, with the possibility that I would have to order one now, thus delaying the process significantly. The only problem is that I didn't have a chance to pick the color.
Can anyone describe the Raven Black Pearl? How is it different from the Brilliant Black. Will it show scratches and blemishes any differently than any other black finish?

Congrats! I have the Raven Black also...(longish)
I'm lousy at describing colors but I'll try. And I can't compare it to the BB because I have never seen one.
It's black, very black, but in the sunlight it has a low-key, very subtle "sparkle" look to it. I have had more perfect strangers comment favorably on this color (and car, of course) than anything I have ever owned.
Here is a tip many will echo: go to www.zainobros.com and order some stuff. When I first got the car I knew zip about "real" car care. Because of that I used some supposedly cotton towels that weren't, resulting in swirl city. Zaino took them out. Other's here will promote Zymol; check the archives.
The first couple of weeks I wasn't sure I did the right thing ordering the Raven Black; it DOES show dirt/dust, etc, but since I discovered Zaino products and the California Duster (big thanks, Forum), I'm thrilled with the color. When it's looking good, it's looking great.

Thanks for the description. I will follow your advice and check the archives regarding the products you mentioned. I was also worried about it showing dirt, but c'est la vie!
