How many people have experienced gas gauge problems?
A couple of posts have described what seems to be becoming a more common problem. The gas gauge seems to be stuck and mileage, miles to empty etc. are all erratic. I had my 5000 mile service today and they traced it to the sending units in the gas tank (after taking apart the instrument cluster). These sending units are on back order from Audi Germany. Just wondering how many here have experienced this.

I have, it lasted 3 days and then "fixed" itself.

Had the problem and it was finally fixed after 5 months. Chaged the sending units as well
I think Audi has a problem with the sender units. In fact, I believe other models are having similar problems and that is why it is back ordered and it takes months to get them

Count me in - dealer says diagnostics should pick it up...
I've got an intermittent flaky IC all around.
- Gas gauge occasionally flickers +/- 1/4 tank
- After 2:00 blinking elapsed time, elapsed time reverts to something below 2:00
- Once, and only once, the clock changed it's time
I'm having my 5k this Friday. When I made the appt, I specifically asked if they had ICs in stock to avoid a second visit for a known problem, service mgr says that the ICs are SERIALIZED, and Audi won't send them a replacement until they get a specific code off of my unit during diagnostics. Once again, bureaucracy breeds complexity which leads to idiocy.<p><a href="http://www.tiac.net/users/cpopolo" target="_new"><img src="http://www.tiac.net/users/cpopolo/images/Cpanim.gif" alt="Carl"></a>
