Default No More Temp Tags--Real Thing in 7 Days

The State of Maryland has outdone itself. The dealer put in the paperwork last Tuesday and got my regular tags in a week. No more driving around with those paper temp tags telling everyone I'm a new, inexperienced owner.

Now I have to come up with some ideas for vanity plates. I'm open to suggestions (7 letters or spaces, total)

Default Ken, why so long--my car had permanent tags put on the day I picked it up!

Who was your dealer? Mine was Valley Motors in Timonium, MD.<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=3177"><img src="http://members.home.net/cmelick/audipics/sig4.jpg" border="0" alt="Click Image to View Registry Information"></a>

Default ...and I had a choice of Save the Bay plates or regular plates

Default Gee!! It's always been 3-4 weeks to get permanent tags in the past.

Perhaps your dealer "stocks" tags. I've always had temporary tags when I've bought a new car. I don't know what your dealer does that is different (and better!).

But now I get to go for the vanity tags. I'll mail the form in on Friday.

BTW--Do any of us have real jobs or real bosses who know we are monitoring this forum all the time?

Default getting plates...

I've had to wait 4-8 weeks for the DMV to get me tags on my last 2 car purchases. Why it takes so long, I have no idea.

When I was 17, I had a great job working for an insurance broker, taking people's info to the RMV outside Boston, and getting plates and reg and all that within a couple of hours. I don't quite get why it's such an ordeal to have the dealer do it...

As far as a real job... I think they afford me some surfing time, since I'm online at work for 18+ hours a day =)

Default We're not expecting our permanent tags for another couple of weeks ... (more)

Michael has already reserved AMULETT for his and I'm thinking of sticking with 225 TTR for mine, but I'm still open to suggestions. I kind of like LNZ TT (as in Ellen's TT), but we'll see.

Oh, and as far as "BTW--Do any of us have real jobs or real bosses who know we are monitoring this forum all the time?" :-) ... and I guess I'm okay on this post since it's almost 9pm.
