I am upgrading my Bose with a small amp and an 8" sub in a tiny box (more)
The amp I'm getting is the Aura SX275. It is a top of the line 2x50 amp that runs at 150 watts bridged mono. The amp is incredible looking. It has a grey/silver roundy kind of look that matches the car perfectly! I am going to mount it to the back of the rear seat (drivers side) and the wires will be totally invisible due to the style of the amp. Beside that a JL Audio 8W3 will be mounted in a tiny .6 cubic inch box with carpet that matches the hatch's colour. The box will be in a triangular shape to take advantage of the slope of the rear seats in the hatch. With one clip I will be able to pop out the box and move it to the back seats or take it right out.
My installer and I have looked EVERYWHERE and we can't find any space to put the amp but there against the back of the seat. He is amazed actually because he has never seen a car better designed for saving space as the TT Coupe.
I don't mind the quality of sound out of the Bose. The highs need some work but I don't want to go to any huge extent with messing around with the PICKY Bose 2 ohm system. The main thing that I miss is some nice loud tight bass and the sealed 8" getting 150 quality watts should sound much better. Total price = $1400 (Can) I could shop around and save another $150-$200 but the installer's quality is worth it and I trust him with my car.
If anyone has any better recommendations PLEASE feel free!!!

Hmm,I used to use Aura equipment once...
Nice stuff.But if you want an amp to match the TT look up Phoenix Gold's Titanium series of amps.
They even have the dimples like the ac vents.
