Power vs. Manual top

Can the manual top be raised while inside the roadster (i.e. grab and pull over one's head) or is it too heavy to do so? Also, how much weight does the power top add to the car? I am purchasing the 180 fwd version and can't decide on whether to go power or not.

I have a manual top. I don't mind it at all. I can lift it up from inside the car. Actually I can get it up and down faster than the automatic top. The hardest part about the top is putting the cover on, and unfortunately you have to do that for both the automatic and manuel. ANd that you have to get outside the car for. Anyway I really had no choice in the matter but I am happy with the manuel. No complaints here, and I don't have to worry about another thing that could break down.

Go manual for 180

I truly believe the only reason they put the power top on the 225 is to add weight to the rear to improve handling. I can manually put down the power top while sitting in the drivers seat.

All the mags say the option weighs 150lbs.

I have the 225 TTQR so I have the automatic top.

There is really no need for the electric top. You have to apply a good deal of effort to crank the release handle anyway.

I say save the dollars and the weight if you are getting a 180.
