ATLANTA, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark your calendars, and be sure to attend the first annual Car & Truck Interiors Awards Press Conference to be held at Cobo Center on May 17, 2000 at 8:30 a.m. in the Car & Truck Interior of the Year Pavilion on the floor of the Automotive & Transportation Interiors Expo. The Expo will run from May 16 - 18, 2000.

The annual awards have been established to focus attention and to recognize the increasing importance of vehicle interiors to automotive product branding and the customer's purchasing decision.

This year's six finalists were selected from 49 new vehicles. The six finalists are:

-- The Audi TT Coupe

-- The Ford Focus

-- The Toyota Echo

-- The BMW X5

-- The Dodge Dakota Quad Cab pickup

-- The Mazda MPV

The Car & Truck Interior of the Year winners will be selected at an awards and scholarship banquet to be held on May 16, 2000 at the Atheneum Suite Hotel in Detroit.

All six finalists will be on display at the EXPO for the morning press conference on May 17. Each vehicle will have a representative to give a short, walk-around presentation, answer questions and supply additional data and photographic support.
