Default Help with "off gas" or plasticizer removal please

Glass cleaners, I've tried them all, including now Zaino Z-12. I just can't shift that film you get on the inside of the windshield. All Z-12 does is kind of smear the film around. It looks awful in low, direct sunlight.

Anyone have any suggestions?<p>ChrisTTopher Lloyd

Default Z12 worked great for removing heavy film build up.

I use Armor All Auto Glass Cleaner to clean the windows, when they are not too dirty. I get the best results while using paper kitchen towels with the cleaner.

Hope this helps<p><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/jk.jpg" border="0" alt=" "></a>

Default Do you apply the cleaner to the glass, or to the towels?

Default I spray the cleaner to the glass and use a lot of paper towels.

Default I'm cheap...

Go buy a 70 cent bottle of 90% isopropyl alcohol. Put about half of it in a bottle, put a drop of Dawn, and a few ounces of water. Use liberally to remove any window film.

Also, it really helps if you start out with a somewhat moist cotton terry towel. Every other kind of towel (paper, non-terry, etc) that I've tried haven't had nearly as good of results.

Default Here's my secret

Almost anything works (Windex, Invisible Glass, Glass Wax, etc.), you just have to use it 2 or 3 times depending on the thickness of the haze.

Afterwards, you might try using your slightly damp real or synthetic chamois to get the last bit of haze. Newspaper is great but it shreds in your hand and all over the dash. I like to use moving paper, which is unprinted newspaper.
