This year I expect some close races, but...
like last night I think all the contending prototypes will be R8s. But with four cars from three teams it can be some pretty tough competition. The Gulf car was only delivered something like 10 days before the race and look how well they did. And the two works R8s had a terrific race!
I'm also looking forward to the competition in both GTS and GT this year. The new M3 GTR is going to be tough on the Porsches and next race there will be two of them. The new Saleen is awesome. I saw it at Laguna Seca last year, and thought it would be a fast qualifier that wouldn't finish, but the never-before-raced chassis won its class! Yet it was only about 50 seconds ahead of the Corvette. Wow!

The thing I don't get is that if the new M3 motor is such a prodigy,....
then why is BMW using the 540 motor as their base block. They also pulled their prototypes to save face in the LMP and have gone to F1 where the rules favor high cylinder/high displacement motors aka Ferraris. This is going to be a grand season. ALMS is setting record bracking attendance as well.
