Driver's School & Insurance
Will standard auto inusrance cover you at one of these events or do folks look to specialty shops for single event coverage? If the latter, any pointers?
In a perfect world, you should get a discount on your insurance for successful completion of a safety seminar....

What type of driver's school are you talking about?
You talking about the type where you learn to parallel park? or the type to take follow the line around a couple of S-turns at high speed?
As long as it is labelled a school and really isn't a timed event you should be covered. It may be hard to check without raising a red flag, but I know of a few instances where people have injured their cars in a driver's school event and the insurance company picked up the tab.

You bet stuff happens...
I was the passenger in a TT that hit a wall and did an end-over-end flip (landing on wheels). The roof was crushed and a few panels were damaged, but no fluids were leaking out of the engine. They ended up totaling the car. The insurance company paid for it all.
This was at a non-timed event labeled as a drivers' education event. Non-timed, therefore not a race.
PS - both doors opened just fine. This is one amazing car we have here!
