times in the upper speed range? 120-140 mph?
flat road? I guess one should not expect (or even want) it to move from
120 to 140 *really* quickly. You could see it as a "safety feature"
if it took longer to get higher speeds.
Should one expect that acceleration in the upper range
will decrease as the car gets
older? When will senescence set in--even with proper maintenance?

For a chipped 180 to go from 120 to 140 I don't know how long it will take because I have never clocked it! I guess the next time I do it, I can always run a stop watch to let you know.
I do know it goes faster from 120 to 140 than it does from 100 to 120.
