My run in with the law (Barney Fife) this weekend in the TT (pics on Nudespeed.com to follow)
Admittedly it can get out of hand sometimes when the burnouts and races happen so I can understand some of the frustrations by the caretakers of the resevoir, anyway....
So we are all just hanging around talking etc and someone who had never seen a TT in the flesh asked me to open the hood so I did. Well then *Barney Fife* (around 50-60 y.o. guy, crew cut, aviotor sunglasses)pulls up in his Jeep with the *Watershed Police* symbol on the side and gets out of the truck and proceeds to run right over to me and starts screaming in my face that "This is not a F*cking car show and I need to close my hood and stop showing off my car!!!" This guy is in my face like a drill sargeant yelling at me!
Of course I could have just walked away and let it be, but my mouth just couldn't stay shut. I told him that I have no problems hearing or understanding english and he did not have to yell at me like a punk kid. I closed my hood and walked away from the guy and then he starts screaming that we were not all parked *correctly* and we needed to get the hell out of here.
So everyone started leaving, so I walked around the car and said good bye to my best friend and this guy comes over and puts his fingers in my face and starts screaming again "Didn't I tell you to get the f*ck outta here!!!!" Well, here we go again I thought, I said "I dont know who the hell you think you are talking to but if you want respect you better start giving it because you *REALLY* have no reason to kick us out, we are not doing anything wrong and we are at a public park etc..
He goes on about how theres a smart *** in every bunch and he is still sorta yelling at me and I looked him in the face and asked "Are you done, because unless you are going to give me a ticket or something, I dont feel like hearing you continue on your power trip, and I turned around. Well thats when he runs to his truck and is yelling about fleeing a police officer or something...
I get in the car and pull away, all of the sudden the lights are on and he zooms up behind me and then on the side of me yelling for me to pull over.
He gets out of the truck and he asks me if I have temp plates on the car, I said no, I have hard tags....right there on the back bumper. He then tells me that he is going to give me a ticket for not having a front plate. I then tell him, "I would like to see you try since you do not have that power." Then he tells me that I have friends in the Police Dept that would be happy to come over and give me a ticket.
I responded by saying "Well since my wife is a police officer, I will know exactly who to talk to when I need to report this abuse by you and your *friend*
He then changed his tune real quick and then tells me "I wanna hear you say that the next time you come though here that you will have a front tag!" I stared at him blankly like a dog hearing a whistle. He says again "Tell me that you are gonna have a front tag on the car when you come back through here." Dead silence from me....
I then asked him " Are you done cause I think I am, I heard you but I am not repeating your request, if you want to go any further I suggest you call the police case I am leaving and I am not stopping again"
He didn't follow me this time...
I got to the other end of the resevoir and pulled over where all of my friends were, they are all laughing and asking me what the hell his problem was....
Then the guy that runs Nudespeed.com came over to me and told me that he took pictures of the whole thing and he was gonna post the pics on the site soon. So keep a look out for them.
What an experience
Yuck... ugly stuff. Sounds like he had a rough week/weekend...

We refer to them as the Loch *****.
I had a friend of mine pulled over one time by a female Loch ****. Well, he wasn't just pulled over, he was almost run over. He was jogging and the cop said he didn't have the right to jog in Loch Raven. He laughed at her and kept right on jogging. Then the cop tried to get him for fleeing. Several County police showed up and it became a big deal. Anyway, it all finally worked itself out, but remember, the park cops can create trouble for you if they want.
