What weight gear oil for 2nd gear grind?

What weight gear oil for 2nd gear grind?

Some of you have mentioned good results by changing the gear oil , to what? And where did you buy it?

Hey Charles. Audi dealer had it. No idea what weight.

None. It's a defect and the oil won't resolve the problem.

Yup - no oil will solve the problem - I've been down this road with my

previous 00 GTI GLX which uses the same 02J tranny. They replaced the oil with Redline MTL, the replaced the syncros and finally - they just bought the car back. It's a design defect and VERY common on both the TT Fwd and VW MkIV cars - GTI, Jetta etc. I'd request a new transmission, then go from there. Don't waste your time changing the oil. Most of the dealers opt for that since it costs them virtually nothing.
