(O/T) Whirlwind trip today.......(very long, full of pics)
So, I know a guy down there that owns and runs another exotic car dealer and I ask him if I can use a lift in his shop for a couple of hours. He's happy to do it, so I booked a flight down there.
Anyway, so I get up at 5:30, pack up some tools and the shock into a duffel bag and head to the airport. I get to the metal detector and give the guy fair warning that he WILL want to look through my carry-on. He runs it through the conveyor anyway and I see his eyes go wide. Poor guy must have thought it was some sort of missile.

So, I touch down, get picked up in the 6.0 and then we head over to my customer's office which happens to be in an airpark, which explains the oversized garage:-)

He pulls the helicopter out, and I head on over to the dealership. It's a nice place, they have a decent sized showroom and attached to that is a strip mall of sorts catering to anything on wheels:

Ok, so I got the car there and up on a lift around 10:30 and proceeded to take the shock assembly off. I get it almost all of the way off, and realize that I have yet to remove the hydraulic line from the lower part of the shock. Me, being the smart guy that I am, just crack the nut loose a tad to releive the 25-80 bar of pressure and drain the system. So, it finally gets done dripping after about 5 minutes, so it MUST be safe to take it off the rest of the way. NOT! I had the privelege of taking a complete hydraulic fluid shower today. No pics of this! My skin is so soft as a result though! So, after buying a change of clothes, I finished up the job. Got done by around 1pm. Took the car out for a while and enjoyed the 85 degree, sunny weather down therem then took off again, and here I am back in the land of multiple wives and 3.2% beer.
Whew, what a day. Can't wait til Lamborghini gets a load of my warranty claim;-)
