Other then me, who is using the Trasko oil filter? Thoughts?

Other then me, who is using the Trasko oil filter? Thoughts?

I've driven almost 3K miles since switching over to Mobil1 and the Trasko filter. I just checked my oil, and its quite a bit darker then I expected, given the claims made about the Trasko and keeping the oil really clean. I realize that M1 is a little dark to begin with, but the color of my oil is quite a bit darker then fresh M1. Certainly not like the black stuff in my old beater, though!

Anyone else have observations to share? Or how this compares to OEM filter and M1 after 3K miles?

Evan, I remember a post MichaelTT made once about the stock oil filter being very high flow...

why did you switch to Trasko? just curious..

ExTTreme highly recommended it, I liked what I saw...

I respect his opinion, so I decided to go for it and evaluate the filter for myself. Now I've had it a while, so I'm trying to make some comparisons, and see what others are experiencing.

I posted the info concerning the OEM filter I noted the Audi bulletin...

noting that 'performance filters' should not be used since they (Audi) found that the one they tested actually restricted oil flow and that the OEM filter on the TTs was a low restriction (flow wise), high filtering 'performance' filter to start with. I did not know by experience anything about the Trasko filter.
