Default APR, ABT, GIAC, MTM...too many letters!...

I'm getting the APR chip put in today, and I'm curious what everyone here thinks. One reason I bought the APR is the fact that I don't have to buy a reserve ECU. With EMCS, I can switch back to the factory setting via the cruise control. I'm not regreting my decision, I'm just wanting some other opinions.

Thanks!<ul><li><a href="http://www.goapr.com">APR Chip Information</a></li></ul>

Default Changing the programs won't save your warranty...

If there is turbo failure and a fault code that points to the ECU, then your Box with a non-Audi OEM part in it gets sent to Germany and you become void. ABT has a new solution with map coding assisted from AG electronic engineering. Rumour has it.

Default Re: AUJ....I have seen this from you 2x....please explain it further

if you dont mind....I understand that it is a *rumour* but I would be interested in hearing what exactly this rumour is/was...

Do you mean layering the code into oem code so that it can not be detected or something to that effect?

Or do you mean that it will be approved by Audi?

Default Not approved by Audi, but developed....

No flames, this is rumour. Apparently, There are strong ties to Audi heirarchy via ABT's technical manager who is driving a privateer R8 in ALMS and TT-R's in the DTM. That's juice(and a lot of talent, I might add). Rumoured assistance in coding for the ABT programs have occurred that result in an Audi confident but not approved program. Secret code acquisition is no longer necessary for K-Boxers who want to stay stealth. I don't want to **** anyone off so I'll leave it at that.

Default wow, that would be a great reason to go ABT.

As I have been trying to decide on a chip.

Default Allow me to remind the forum that similar things were said about MTM

over a year ago right here. To the effect of: Due to their close ties to Audi AG, MTM is the only chipper that has access to the actual codes of the Audi ECU's and does not have to reverse engineer the ECU like everyone else does.

I am sure ABT makes a quality product and it is to Stratmosphere's credit they are bringing another ABT vendor to the USA to create competition with the other ABT vendor, which is better for the consumer.

I just get a small kick out of noticing the buildup of credibility that is going on here for ABT is similar to that of MTM a while ago.

Then don't work for IBM, we use more TLAs by 9AM than the rest of the planet.

Default MTM's ties were by ex-Audi engineers that became MTM engineers...

ABT ties are closer than ex-co-workers. Anybody know why? Chime in just for kicks. Personally, I don't care about rumours even though I've been prompted to spread them by other posters; I just want the best product for my car.
