Generic "Hands Free" Cell phone adapter - now working!
After a few weeks of on-off work, I completed my work on this last night.
My Cell Phone adapter 'Kit' now works.
As it is set up, when a call comes into the TT, the ringing current triggers the 'mute' circuit, and toggles the 'PHONE' circuitry in the TT radio.
When I answer the phone, the callers voice comes through one of the selectable front speakers in the TT, and the built-in Audi mike picks up my voice for the caller.
This took awhile to de-bug, but it works, and should be able to be used with *any* cell phone.
Read the report and see the pics.
I will be showing this at Fallingwater also.<ul><li><a href="http://people.mn.mediaone.net/ttbipes/handsfree/index.html">"Hands Free in the TT" new posting</a></li></ul>
I used to have a hands-free kit in my pre-TT car and loved it. I've been looking for a solution, and you may have found it.
1 - Where does the RJ-45 jack from the Controller plug in?
2 - Did you buy or make the Controller box? If you bought it, where can I get it? If you made it, will you be providing instructions for this as well?
3 - Do you have more detailed wiring diagrams for the wires from the DB-25 cable to the MUTE component and the Power Circuit component?
4 - What is the link to your site with your other mods.
Sorry for asking so many questions. If your site has the answers, please let me know.
I have a Samsung 6100. The only problem I see with this phone is the alternate power charging plug. It does not have one. It only has the multipin plug at the bottom. I do have the cigarette lighter adapter, so maybe I can take that apart and use that instead.
Thanks again for your efforts.

I made it. Yes, I will be documenting this all soon.
3 - Do you have more detailed wiring diagrams for the wires from
the DB-25 cable to the MUTE component and the Power Circuit
component?
Again, I will be re-drawing all these schematics, and will be posting this.

Here. A lot of the old drawings, and other details regarding the mute circuit can be found here.<ul><li><a href="http://people.mn.mediaone.net/jbipes/newttr/hfinstall.html">Original page from my site</a></li></ul>
