Default Audi Service Advisor tells me Tiptronic is coming for 2002 (more)

He says "the ladies" are calling Germany demanding it.

I told him that I had read a list of changes for 2002 on the internet that came from an AoA fax and there was no tiptronic.

He shrugged and said that he had overheard one of the sales guys saying it.

Probably not true, but it figures that they would eventually do it. While waiting for their shuttle to work I saw only one TT driven by a woman come in (out of three total) while females drove in with 2 A4's and two Boxsters--all Tiptronic. Small sample size, but they must figure they're losing TT sales...

Default Have been dead set against the tiptronic, but a conversation with my Ottawa counsel yesterday

changed my mind. Sad to say, unless it affects you personally, you don't think about it. He owns an A4 with tiptronic and desperately wants a TT Roadster....why can't he buy one ... he only has one hand. He uses a prosthetic device for his other hand. He explained to me how wonderful the tiptronic on the A4 is for him. He wants pictures of all the Roadsters from Fallingwater to drool over (I gave him a ride in my TT when he was here a few months ago and he fell in love with it)....made me realize not to be so closed minded on some subjects.

Default sure, my friend's dad had a stroke and has minimal use of his right side..

but y'know...

some people are too big to drive a miata or an S2000, and some people don't have the physical capability to drive an F1 car.

it's not a born right that you can do anything.. :P

Re: Amen, good point(s) - just that some prefer shifting/clutching.

Default So, if it's up to you, when my left ankle blows out from arthritis I should loose the car?

Remember, if you're lucky, you will also grow old. Let's hear your story then. Somehow I doubt you will give up something you love graciously. At least from what I've seen from you on this forum.

No ****, Ebb. I was just pointing out that I had "personally" changed my mind on this issue.

Default I would consider Tip with buttons on the wheel

I've driven the Audo tips before and they shift real nice. With the wheel buttons for manual override it could be a sweet setup.
