Default Am I paranoid or are these real problems?

I've had my new TT since monday and I love it so far. It only has about 200 miles on it. Just noticed a few things over the past few days and wanted to know if anyone thinks these are real problems or I'm just being paranoid about the new car. On day one after driving a little while the check engine light came on. It stayed on the rest of the night and when I started the car the next day if was off and its not came back on. The other problem is the other day I was driving to work in the morning and the fuel gauge was on empty for the first 15 min of driving. It suddenly corrected itself back to 1/2 tank and its never happend again. Also is it normal for the temp gauge to run 3/4 to Hot? I notice the temp is usually at 3/4 and sometimes drops to 1/2. I mentioned the problems to my dealer and he didn't say much about it because the problems have only happend once and didn't think my temp was a problem either. I just want to make sure my baby is ok.

Default Possibly the instrument cluster issue.

First, make sure all your fuses are secure.

If that doesn't fix the problem, search the Forum for the instrument cluster problem, then go see the dealer and have 'em order a new one for you. Several people have had them replaced, so you're hardly alone in this. HTH. Cheers!

Default ... or maybe somthing as simple as a loose gas cap.

I once had a similar problem, but tightening the gas cap corrected it.

But in ref. to FORTUNATE's response, I am on my 3rd instrument cluster and now am having similar problems with my temp gauge. Also, at 80 mph in 5th, tach is no longer staight up like mph gauge. I go to the dealer in May for my 2 yr. check-up and will have cluster examined. The electronics in the clusters seem to be very unreliable.

Default One half to one mark past half is common for engine temp on a 225. No problem.

Knock on it (like you do with a watch) and it will work

Gee, pretty grim when you have to knock on the fuel gauge of a 42Kbuck car to make it work. My fuel gauge (car has 330 miles) stays at zero until I tap on the gauge or go over a good bump.

Wonderful, and I traded in my Ford SVT Lightning to have a car with reliability. Gee, I wonder what you have to spend to finally get there? Apparently not 42K.

I thought it might be also be the gas cap, but the dealer told me if that happens it needs to be reset by them to make the light go off. Maybe it is a faulty gauge cluster, since the problems are not consistant. Although I hope the temp is really not running 3/4 most of the time like it indicates. I'm going to go back to the dealer again to see what they say.

Mine has not budged above the half mark and it is in the high 80's here in Florida - and that is in stop and go traffic. Of course it might be stuck like my fuel gauge.
