180 hp @ 5500 rpm, 9.5:1 CR, LEV rating

John S - do you have the engine codes for the 170 and 180hp versions?
Since VW is gonna put "180hp" versions in the 2002 GTI but advertise em as 170hp - i'm curious to see the engine code differences.

No, they didn't list the code letters but the VW will be a ULEV, unlike the 180hp TT.
I have read what you’re saying in a couple of magazines but they appear to be ignoring the effects of a quieter exhaust and more stringent emissions (would not be surprised if the VWs also get 9.3:1 CR, which is probably the result of a combustion chamber tweak for emissions).
