I remember when my father had one when I was 4 yrs old. A neat car.

 

are the Timothy Leary Memorial Edition I believe. PGTT did you see tt225's pic above. Is that the first BB with blue interior we've seen. Looks really neat in the black. PT looks better in convertible than the original ... to me anyway.

but I hate to say I was 16 then. The good part was I got to drive it. The Avanti was white with a burgandy interior. The engine had a Paxton supercharger, an automatic and though not super fast off line, punch it at 70 and move past 100 before you knew it. I once, very early in the moring, had the car up to 130 mph on a long straight by Jones Beach, LI. I then started to think about the tires and slowed down. My favorite memory is of my parents pulling into the garage, late at night from some party and feeling the house rumble from the exhaust. I loved that car.
