Default Newbie needs advice...have to order TT in 4 weeks.

I am buying a new TT 225 roadster and had a few questions:

Leaning toward brilliant black with baseball optic leather anyone seen this combo? What did you think. I like the silver/black but already have a silver car for my wife so that isn't an option.

Is the Nav worth the moola?

Does anyone use the cup holders? I am thinking of getting the arm rest and it seems I'll lose the cup holders if I do.

Dealer is quoting $485 to stoneguard the front end and mirrors is this a deal?

If these have been discussed ad nauseum I apologize.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Default BB with Baseball is the Best and Fastest!! (more)

Nope...The nav is not that great. I wouldn't order it.

I had cupholders...and replaced them with the armrest...I don't miss them.

Not sure how much the Stonegard cost me...Was part of my deal.

Other than that....Great car! Order and enjoy it!!

Default A few answers...

The nav, I feel, is definitely worth it. I love it, and it comes in REAL handy a lot. The only downfall IMHO, is the whole region separation. I think it would have been leaps and bounds better had they used a DVD based solution, allowing the whole USA onto one disc. But functionally, it is excellent. Non-intrusive, informative, and above all, accurate.

The cup holders *can* be retained even after putting the armrest in. The only caveat is that you can't put the seats *all* the way back, but unless you're 6'10" or so, you should be fine. Do a search of the forums to find out how to do it, as I don't have links handy.

$485 sounds like a decent price for the stongard, depending on how much of the front end they're going to do. If it includes the whole nose, including the lower portion of the hood, it's a decent price. If you're getting the entire hood, whole nose, fenders, then it's an excellent deal. Jump at it.

Colour Combo

IMO, the black would probably go better with a more neutral colour; baseball similarly goes better with a brighter colour.

It's really down to taste.

NAV

I got all the options except NAV because I didn't think I'd get much use out of it. It's a pleasure to get lost in a TT because it gives you more opportunity to explore/show off.

Besides... didn't think I'd be able to concentrate on the NAV instructions with the girlfriend shouting her own navigation instructions into my right ear ;-)

Cup holders

Yeah. Size D are really great if ya can fill 'em.

No drinking or smoking allowed in my baby ;-)

Actually, there's a posting further down about a Monster TT - some really high spec beast owned by a German forum member with a link to some pictures that show an armrest installed with cupholders and the cupholders were installed across rather than lengthwise.

Stoneguard

Dunno but sounds expensive.

The sideways cupholders would be really tough to live with in the TTR. Works okay in a Coupe I think

Works fine for me. It just depends on seat position.
