Default my TT is worthless!!!!!!!

I was in a wreck a year ago February and due
to lack of parts (dash was involved) and
incompetent bodyshop people, It took almost a year
to restore my TT to it original splendor. Insurance payed out over 17k to fix my TT.
My own dealership has now turned it's back on
me and will not accept my TT for trade. They
say it is worthless. No buy-back bid of any kind.
and Now my TT is blackballed on their nationwide conputer system. Isn't that just peachy.
This insult comes after receiving a firm buy-back
quote of 25k (5k off for diminished value)
Once at the dealership, they changed their minds.
This is the last time I will ever buy an Audi.
Some of you might remember MYBABY. see link for pics of wreck.

My only pleasure will be is giving the car back
after lease terms are up. but that is in 2 years.
They HAVE TO accept it. right?

Dealership in question: Rod East Audi
san antonio, texas

pics of wreck

Default Write to Audi of America and tell them what the dealers told you....

I think Audi has some sort of guarantee regarding the residual price of a car after two years. It might be worth checking into it.

Write comments here

Default Does your area have a consumer advocate TV reporter/segment? Might wanna try that if your market ...

has one.

Like here in LA, we have Mike Boguslawski (KCBS)and he'll actually go to retailer to resolve a consumer's complaint, and he'll write letters to national companies to get things settled. Seems to work.

Default As I understand it, you can be compensated for your insurance co for diminished value...

You might look into this.

Default I feel your pain. Just imagine if you were buying your car used.

Wouldn't you feel it worth less because of the damage that was once done ?

The dealer bid is a tad low, but if they disclose the damage, any buy bids will be off by thousands of dollars.

As these guys have said, your insurance may cover lost value.

At turn-in, there will be an inspection. If everything has indeed been fixed, you should pass fine.

Default Correct, though it depends on your insurance company and you WILL have to sue...

An example of this was given recently by Tom Martino on his syndicated radio show.

A man was in an accident with his new $75K Mercedes. Insurance fixed the damage but he knew he could never sell it without disclosing the accident. He sued his insurance company for loss of value... and won.

The most important thing is that you need to get an independent auto appraiser to give you a value for the car in order to prove your loss of value...
