Alignment is off because of stupid driver of other car...
Before this, I was quite happy as I had the recall done and made sure the alignment was dead on. I was quite pissed and followed them and motioned them to pull over. They laughed and I followed them for a few miles. The made a right turn into traffic and lost me. Fortunately for them and probably fortunately for me that they lost me. Who knows if I would've been a victim of some cowardly shooting with a $40 .22 caliber pocket gun. My life is not worth being killed by a $40 gun and a bullet worth pennies. Unless they make contact with your car, don't pursue. Your life is worth more than the supposed vindication.
My oldest bro had an 87 Mustang GT with all the suspension goodies (despite the engine component problems (engine itself is bulletproof)) the car always stayed aligned even being driven hard often.
My '77 911 (yes 24 years old) being driven normally hasn't had too many alignment problems.
I bet automakers do this so that certain suspension parts sacrifice or misalign easier so that the rest of the car doesn't get damaged. An alignment is much cheaper than replacing a control arm or bushing. Who knows? Do I hear a automaker/alignment shop conspiracy.
I also have to take into account that the more cars sharing the roads, the worse condition they are in. Big Excursion-size 3 ton SUV's tearin' up the road...
Just had the first FE part break on my 72 Buick (never had an alignment, ever)-ball joint. Put it on the machine - was very close to spec-only needed minor adjustment.
Never had one done on our 92 Lexus.
If your alignment if off- I bet something broke.
