Did I do a bad thing?
On the other hand, how much is it worth to you to not have ANY chips when the clear bra is installed? I didn't make it to my clear bra install unscathed, as I got my first paint chip about 48 hours after I drove off the lot.
It depends on the installer and the quality of the install, but I've been happy with my XPel since it went on -- and I planned it before I bought the car. Lots of people have had problems with paint chips; if your clear bra install was good (and it likely was) you did fine. HTH. Cheers!
P.S. Don't forget to get a receipt that spells out what was installed and shows kit cost and install cost for your insurance company--if (God forbid) your baby ever gets in an accident, they'll pay for the new bra & install. The key is to document the cost and labor fees so the insurance adjuster can't lowball you.
Again, much depends on who's doing the install, but if it's a quality job on a TT, $500 is a steal for a full front end. Cheers!

I'm actually getting a custom (not a pre-cut kit) full front end wrap (full front, full hood, full front fenders, mirrors and headlights) for my S4 this Saturday. These guys are flying out from Utah to the SF Bay Area for a group buy. The clear bra and install will run just over $1,000.

Go for it! Give us some feedback in a few months on the hood piece--I've been curious to see if it'll stand up to the repeated heating from the turbo (or, in your case, turbos). Don't know if that'll make any difference, but I've often thought of going for the full hood. Cheers!
