OT: me being inqusitive, anyone else here a Stargate SG-1 Fan(atic)?

 

Not a fanatic, but I watch when I can....

My wife is freakin' nutz over that show. It watch it with her often.

 

I've gone so far as to do the following:

For a long time, I kept going back and forth on whether or not I wanted to get a DVD player. It finally pushed me over the edge when I came across <A HREF="http://www.blackstar.co.uk">www.blackstar.co.uk</A>, which had free shipping at the time anywhere in the world (since then, they've started charging for shipping, which I care very little about). Stargate SG-1 episodes were not available on VHS or DVD in the U.S. (except the pilot episode, Children of the Gods), but in the U.K., they regularly release episodes on DVD and VHS (4 eps. per DVD, 2 per VHS). I told myself, "OK, we're getting a DVD player.".

So, I bought a DVD player, and I, uh, didn't realize it was a multi-region player, or something, and then proceeded to buy every single friggin' DVD they had at blackstar (which was all that had been released). So, I basically bought a DVD player for the sole purpose of getting those stargate DVDs. Since then, of course, I've found what a wonder DVDs are, and have enlarged my library drastically (over 200 thus far..). Further, I pay $10/month for showtime from my cable company. The only show I watch on it is Stargate. Rarely will I watch anything else airing on Showtime.

But wait, there's more! heh. If you peruse EBay, at least one or two items that have something to do with Stargate will always see my name in the bid list, on a continuous basis.

Want more? It's the reason I bought a TiVo too. Of course, I use the TiVo for other stuff now as wsll, but still.

More? I have 4 different DVD copies of the original Stargate movie, all of which are different (Limited Edition with 9 extra minutes of footage, standard U.S. release, widescreen-only release, Standard multi-region release version).

More? I have 2 VCDs of Stargate the Movie. One in English and one in English with Malaysian subtitles (don't ask why).

VHS? Don't get me started.

Soundtracks? Yea, got both.

Tons of memorabilia and other such fun tidbits that have been harvested off EBay.

Um... There's more, I just can't think of 'em right now. I am a total nutcase when it comes to the show, no question about it. That, the TT, and Porsches are my 3 major weaknesses.

 

Met a guy named Stargate last week. His birth name was unpronouncable...
