question about TTQ 225 hp engine
Hello,
My girlfriend is interested in buying a 2001 TT 1.8T Quatrro Coupe (225 hp)/6-speed. She doesn't plan on chipping or racing. How well has that engine been holding up for you guys? I know Audi supposedly reinforced it over the standard 180 hp variant. Any K04 turbo issues known? Thanks, and sorry if this has been beaten to death already.

Solid motor and significantly detuned as compared to J. Palmer formula series (now defunct)...
JP's motor was making nearly 400 HP. More importantly, after two years of running they never lost a motor in this spec. series. Remarkable.
Reports of lost 225 motors are rare on this board. And, when they occur it has happened early during ownership. Also, Audi has made good on all such (rare) failures although a month to six weeks downtime is standard with a decent loaner as part of the deal.
