Some say yes, some say no. I don't think I would have bought the car without it, personally.

Default I think it is just another piece of machinery that adds to the weight of the car, ....

and I also used to worry that it would always break....outta warranty, so I was also leary of it for that reason as well....

plus I always get out to put the boot on anyway

My first TTR had manual top and second has power. Manual was better.

Agree, adds weight, cost, mechanical complexity. Wouldn't have got it if I had a choice.

Default I like my manual top a lot...it's easy for me to operate from the driver's seat...

..it's very fast, lacks complexity, I can operatie it with the car rolling (slowly).

Default I was going to not get power, but 225 is standard...

The non power top drops very easily and is faster than the power top. I assume you could even drop the top while moving slowly. Putting the top up is another story and I cannot imagine doing it without stopping and getting out of the car.

I've been out when it started to rain and have put the top up at a stoplight or pulled over for a quick stop. Without getting out your top is up and on your way.

I had MGs where I wouldn't drop the hood because it was such a pain to put back up. I think I go topless more because I know I can get it back up easily if conditions change. I like it.

I have put the top up and down manually to verify it can be done so never worry about being stuck if the mechanism breaks.

You can order a 225 w/o a power top and save $800.
