Planning a Fall 2001 Foliage Drive through the San Juan Skyway
I did this trip last year in late September. About 865 miles from Albuquerque round trip. There is so much to do and see that it was impossible to do it all. Except for a few minor pockets of construction, the road was clear.
Anyway, this trip will be offered to those desiring to join in. The start point may be Durango, Colorado.
When I have all the particulars together, I will post a small web site. Meanwhile, the link below will give you an idea of what is available in the scenic drive area (236 mile loop Durango-Durango).
Since I do not believe that there will be any clearcut consensus on a TT Western States event, I thought this regional diversion might suffice for those within reasonable driving distance. Even a handful of TTers should produce a good time and a pleasant scenic drive including some pockets of "twisties".
