ok, i don't own a TT but i really love the car. it's SOOOO pretty, and the interior kicks ***. but, the feel of the front engine in the car and the 6-speed in the 225 drove me away from buying it when i wanted an automatic coupe. Also turbo lag and lack of really intense performance. i had an s4 and 996 c4, and enjoy raw performance with style and luxury mixed in. yes, my performance cars MUST be 6-speeds... but in this case i needed an automatic. (think i'm crazy?!)

so i got to thinking....

if only the TT were a mid or rear engine/RWD/AWD config, with a larger engine... W8 perhaps? 300ish HP without adding too much weight, upgraded brakes and suspension, and a 6-speed of course.

what are your thoughts on front engine vs rear engine? i for one prefer the rear engine 996 over the front engine TT (in terms of how the car handles with a large portion of the weight in the front or rear). if only a 50/50 distribution could be achieved, with 300hp, and equal power distribution to the wheels... i just get this feeling that Audi could make a sort of porsche-type car if they really beefed up the TT. yes, it would have to cost $40-$50k, but that's less than a boxster s, for one. i mention 300hp but of course that wouldn't satisfy all especially if the engine were n.a. instead of an easily stretched turbo or twin turbo... but i don't know about the lag in the 1.8t or if it could produce a beefy 300-350hp.

also, the steering and shifting has to be dealt with!

i suppose i might still fall for a TT225 coupe at some point, maybe this fall if i can actually drive it. (nyc for school)

please keep in mind the fact that none of this is really to take away from the TT as it is. a fine car and one of the most beautiful designs i've ever seen inside and out. this is, a fantasy, perhaps?

Many people are trying different ways to get more power from the TT. But you have to admit, auto or not, it's one of the most radical looking, sexy things out there on the road.

I hate to inform you, while you certainly are convincing in some respects to know about cars, you seriously did not drive the TT or someone with your obsevational skills would have known that the 225 HP does have AWD...

it's kinda a joke thing for the s4 forum professors... seems they think we are the same person so....

 

i know it has awd, but i meant to have it a rwd OR awd config. as if it say, if not one, the other, on this dream TT of mine... that wouldn't be a front engine car.
