Paint peeling. Anyone else?

It's a 1999 delivery car, so it's obviously an early one. Audi dealer says the primer is the wrong color below the paint so they won't cover it under warranty. I'm not the first owner, bought it with 10,800 miles and have put 19,000 miles on it in the last 9 months. I don't think it's been repainted but I can't PROVE it. The dealer's never managed to successfully fix anything. Well, they did manage to change the windshield out that cracked down the middle. I'm still fighting the 1-2 gear synchro (supposedly fixed since they've now rebuilt the tranny, before they've always said they couldn't reproduce the problem) and the rear deck rattle. The car's a hunk of junk as far as I'm concerned. I have almost have fewer problems with my 9 year old, 140k mile Integra...

I've got almost all of the common defects.
Fixed previously:
- Driver's side window stopped going up and down. Entire mechanism replaced.
- Windshield cracked down the middle while taking an off ramp at about 60.
Hope to have fixed this time (I'll know when I pick it up):
- 1-2 gear grind (3rd time reported)
- rear deck rattle (3rd time reported)
- strange sound when letting off throttle at 3000-3500 RPM (bypass valve?)
- Extremely uneven idle when cold, sometimes kills car after cold morning start
- Uneven idle when warm, at least +/- 200 RPM
- stereo cover rattles
- air-conditioning whines
- uneven, surgy power under partial and full throttle (more noticable with partial throttle)
- oil residue on engine, possible leak
- right front parking light out (2nd time reported)

Things I didn't ask to have fixed because I forgot or didn't think they could fix:
- driver's seat shifts, I forgot this one.
- sometimes dome light just comes on. It's happened several times but I've not asked them to hunt this down.
- A few other minor things I can't recall...

Well, if it was, I'd wager a good amount of money it was done through an Audi dealer. I have all the former owner's receipts. He had a tire changed at the dealer for >$400, so I can't imagine that he'd have taken it to Billy Bob's Bodyshop to get something painted. Actually, I'm trying to track down if maybe it was painted at delivery. A lot of cars have transit damage when they arrive...

Yep. At this point I've decided that Oklahoma City has a lousy dealer (Bob Moore Audi/Porsche/Infinity), and that is part of my problem. The other part is that half of the people at Audi USA are useless. I seem to run about 50% when I call there. I either get someone completely stupid or someone who wants to be helpful but isn't. Any recommended tactics on getting Audi to come through for me on this? I've actually considered just seeing if they'd work a trade to a 225 TTQC, but I'm afraid to own another one...

hi,
here my advise. call your dealer (service manager). tell him you would like to have their rep (audi) to have a look at it.
wrong primer. kind of funny!!! it is actually possible a) the car was painted prior to delivery (from audi or dealer and the rep can check the factory history) or.....b) it was happens in the factory (they use sometimes "overpinted parts!!!).
advise the dealer you would like to have the rep look at it. and than tell him this needs to be covered by AUDI!
