Summer Drives

I'm a school teacher with 2 1/2 months off work. I live near Portland, Oregon. I need some suggestions of places to drive the 225TTC this summer. Near??? Far??? I'm very flexible but prefer scenic beauty with lots of curves. (On the roads!)Please make suggestions on roadtrips or books about roadtrips that are available.

head to hood river and cross the bridge.....

take road to Trout Lake (141) and at BZ corners go right to Glenwood, then east through Klickitat gorge and when you hit the intersection to Goldendale or Lyle take a right turn and head to Lyle. There you can take a right and in 10 miles are back at the bridge. Other routes, over Mt. Hood (35) and back by way of Sandy, Troutdale. Rt. 14 instead of 84 nice too with less tractor trailer rigs. Remember the Gorge Games are mid July so it can be crowded in the gorge then but lots of fun folks to meet then too. Also out of Carson Washington head north and take a right over Old Man's Pass and on 90 go left to Lewis River and Mt. St Helens or right and loops to Trout Lake. Lots of great driving. I kind of miss not being up there now.

Get down to Corvallis and then take the highway to Waldport....

Very twisty, very scenic, no cops (at least the two times I've been on it) and then your at the coast. Don't speed on 101 though, lots of cops and traps.
