Default torque wrench recomendation needed for wheel lugs....

looking at 30-150 ft.lb. 1/2 drive. What extensions and socket is best. Sears has a micro model for $69 which is much less than a Proto I normally use on my bike which also comes in a nice plastic case.

I have a Craftsman that I like. One can save some cash by getting the beam-based one, but once I got the "click" type I never wnet back to the beam.

Cheers!

Default Bad experience with Craftsman ....

I'd stay away from the Craftsman line of torque wrenches. Unless they have changed their desigh, the little concentric ring that is used to "lock" in the preset torque value is made of cheap (i.e. breakable) plastic. My buddy had one and had to replace it twice when the lock ring broke. Unlike everything else sold under the Craftsman brand name... their torque wrenches are NOT guarranteed for life. They have a 1-2 year warranty for these.

I will say that I have been impressed with everything else from craftsman that I have ever owned. Maybe that's what made their torque wrench quality/warranty so upsetting.

I ordered a nice 1/2 drive wrench from McMaster a few years back for work and was quite impressed with the price/quality of the product delivered. I was used to overpaying for everything from them.

Yep! Go for the deep well ones--much easier on your bolts and hands
